Lorongs of KL

It's always nice to revisit places that bring back great memories of the past. After a freagin hectic week, i thought i'd give myself a break this weekend and enjoy the finer things in life for once. There's nothing better to do than to go look for food back in the lorongs of KL.

Ever since leaving the bank to resume my studies, i've only had a few chances to return to the place that has probably the best food in KL. Back then, it was Marko, Keng and myself who would look forward to lunch time everyday as we would go food hunting. It was almost as if our real jobs were to sample food and review it rather than being honest hardworking bank employees.

I've gotta admit that i miss every bit of that part of my life. Among the great discoveries we made were 'Mee Goreng Lambat'. When i mention 'Lambat', it's really slow. No joke. It's so slow to the extent that you've gotta order your plate of mee goreng an hour before you get served via handphone. That's how slow but advanced this stall is. But the wait is definitely worth it. The taste is superb.

With Mee Goreng Lambat gaining legendary status, there were of course other great discoveries and the notable ones which were always frequented by bankers. Today's journey began first with visit to Santa's Chappati House. This place has probably the best chappati i've tasted so far. After tasting chappati here, chappati in Seremban definitely sucks big time. It's got a unique texture and taste. On normal weekdays, it's almost impossible to get a place to sit. So, it was a must to drop by since it was the weekend.

Since chappati was for starters, the next stop was definitely gonna be at Soong Kee's beef ball noodles. This was probably my favourite of the lot. There's never a week where i missed a visit. It's so good that even the boss of YTL was there eating next to my table this morning. He even ta-paoed a few packs for his workers. Great boss. As for the person who joined me on my food adventure today, the verdict was... it's pretty good. I'm not surprised.

As if eating a freagin big bowl of beef noodles after chappati was not mad enough, the next stop was the chicken rice at the lorong near Woh Fatt music house where the legendary 'Elvis' is seen tuning guitars and showing of his guitar riffs. The chicken rice at this lorong is mad. It's got one kinda taste. Can't explain it but it definitely rocks.

Kinda unfortunate i didn't manage to get any pictures taken. Hopefully i'll get to go again sometime soon. KL Lorong Food Rocks!
