7days

7 days isn't that long but it can be really eventful if every second that passes has a meaning to it. As the first week of final year in med school passed, i guess the mindset and perspective of things did change a lot. Waking up each morning now brings forth new meaning as to how i should think, act or speak. I guess through the past 4 years i've been in med school, i've done loadsa stupid things, some of which still make me wonder why. Being a slacker will always be some part of me but as to how much i'm gonna slack will be a totally different question.

In seven days, i've seen loadsa things change. I don't know if i'm hallucinating or just in a state of ultimate awe. HL is now officially the most hardworking guy i've ever seen in this semester. Going off to the wards at 630 in the morning and coming back only at 130am or later just shows thoroughbred commitment and determination. That totally rocks. Even as i'm typing now, i believe he is somewhere in the wards clerking some patient or doing some work. As for myself, i've never wanted to learn as much as i have now. The motivation to go to the hospital even when there's no reason to go just makes it feel weird. Being inquisitive of every action that is done by the doc is just kinda astounding. I guess it does have some benefits and hopefully things stay this way.

As great as things are going, life as it is seems like a vortex. You just get sucked into it not knowing what will happen next. You may end up being fortunate or end up digging your own grave. Over the week, it was great to hear an old classmate of mine getting engaged. He's one heck of a great lad and i'm really glad that things have worked out for him. Cheers to him and his future wife. As for others, sometimes the reverse happens and it's just sad to hear of a breakup of a close pal or something unwanted like the passing on of the great man who brought us the meaning of opera, Luciano Pavarotti. When things go your way, everything seems surreal but when everything comes crashing down, there's only God to look to when life seems to be in the darkest pits.

It's only been 7 days. Eventful as they seem, i'd just wished you were here to complete the picture. The puzzle just isn't complete. May I find you in Him.
