Sunday, August 14, 2005 Plain Sunrise Yup, it's great to see the sunshine back in its rightful place. After a few days of rather thick haze, it's a welcoming sight and something great to have. I guess the haze was pretty bad this time round. It even put some of us lads to sleep in the library.. fuh, speaking about hypoxia. Thankfully all is well now and the air is a little fresher than before. Besides the physical haze, many things did seemed hazy in the duration of the week. As the PMS matching process is about to take place, i had to decide if i was going to relinquish my place in Seremban Clinical School and opt for a change to a partner medical school. It's really hard to make decisions like this. One thing for sure, PMS offers me an experience i'll never get in Seremban. The culture, prestige and other factors come into play and it really makes you want to take up the offer. The British Football is another big factor. :P But on the other hand the certainty of obtaining the university of your choice is slim as there are so many capable and outstanding students to compete with. It's a risk that you would have to take not only physically but also financially. It would be crazy if i got stuck in Edinburgh or St. Georges where the expenses would be astronomical. Of course, if I could obtain a place in Dundee or Aberdeen without any risk, i think it would be great. Well.. I guess i'm pretty much gonna stick to my choice of going to Seremban though it may not be that grand. What ever it may be, I pray that God will steer me along the path He has placed ahead of me. I wouldn't want to end up like Jonah who tried to run away from God's agenda for him and end up in catastrophic circumstances. Else than difficult choices, injury of the week comes in the form of a sprained right ankle courtesy of Mr. Jeremy who crafts 'beautiful' injuries. It's the 2nd time he's clattered into me this year. The first time was a dislocated distal tarsal bone of the right foot. This time the injury has given me an antalgaic gait. I wonder if it was done on purpose so he can have a real MS CSU patient. :P Can't do much but to laugh at the clumsy lad again. Hopefully no more injuries to both of us till IMU Cup comes. After IMU Cup, hopefully no injuries in Seremban as well. Cheers to Jeremy. May we not have anymore injuries in the future. Hehe. Aights. Cherios! Sunday, August 07, 2005 Arthrodesique It's been a week of great stuff. Never have i been more inquisitive about what i've been learning in class than now. Surprisingly, i've spent more time in the medical museum than in the library for once. Yup, and by God's grace i'm in sem 5 and currently studying the musculoskeletal system of the human body and that explains a slight bit of why i'm stuck in that room full of plastic anatomy models. For now it's pretty much trying to figure out the human 'scaffolding' system and the 'cable and pulley' systems that move them around. Sounds technical but it's pretty much a masterpiece of God that I can only be in awe of. Not to far from this point, i'll be looking into the problems that can occur to this system of interlocking bones, muscles, tendons and cartilage as well as the solutions that would put them back into order. It just sounds so cool. I guess that's pretty much what an orthopaedic surgeon would have to look into. Well, it's pretty clear that i'm kinda crazy about wanting to be a person who does manipulation to joints, arthrodesis, arthroplasty, synovectomy, osteotomy and other whacky sounding procedures but i guess i'll have to pass my MS exam first and then the sem 5 EOS exam. Well, a dream today, hopefully will be reality tomorrow. In God i'll trust. Dream destination, hopefully : Orthopaedics paper 1. PDL Finals were held this mornin' and I guess the best CG won it. It's none other than the VALERIANS which i coincidentally belong to. Hehe. And congrats to our IPOD winner, Dr.(akan datang)Gong who did a pretty good job. At the end of the day, hopefully this whole PDL thing would have instilled in us a reason to seek God for our purpose in life. Totally awesome. Aights. Hoping for an inspired week of MS. Cheers! |
