Wake Up

It's been the ultimate experience spending 5 solid days at a General Practitioner's (GP) clinic. No offense, but I seriously didn't think life as a GP was that great. The GP clinic I went to was probably the most unconventional clinic but one heck of a clinic that totally rawks. Being stuck in Seremban, you seriously wouldn't think there would be such a clinic that existed. I guess i'm still pretty much in awe of the docs who run the clinic. Its basically a family business managed by 3 brothers which makes it all the more wicked. Since it was almost 90% Chinese speaking, i think i've become more of an ah beng than i have been in my past 1.5 years stuck in this freagin small town. Suddenly you just start to speak Mandarin and Cantonese as if you knew it inside out when you were literally a freagin 'banana' for almost your entire life. Totally wicked. I'm pretty sure learning about life and other crazy stuff at this clinic was definitely more useful than the first 3 weeks in Family Med where you are just confined to Fam med, Fam med and Fam med. Boring.

As we discussed about life and medicine, it was pretty obvious that we (Dawson, Shaggy and Myself) were going to be smacked right in the face when the doc asked us where we were going to be doing our housemanship in a years time. A year??? Yup... that's a year alright. 365 days. Suddenly you just realise how incompetent you are even though you can answer almost every darn question fired at you by the doc about management and medication. Somehow the question of responsibility comes into play and everything changes. Am I good enough to be a doc? We only learn 20% of stuff in medical school while another 80% will be rapidly learned during our years as a houseman and medical officer. That makes me pretty kosong up there at the moment even if i can explain what Alice in Wonderland Syndrome is to you word for word. I guess life is not as straight forward as it sounds. God willing i'll have the humility to learn as much as I can and have a desire to learn.

Well, it's not all gloom and doom. I'm quite sure many of my seniors in Sem 10 are just on the verge of smiling and giving out a sigh of relief after 5 painstakingly long years. It's an achievement in it's on right for sure. I believe housmanship will just be another challenge in life that us medic people have to face to make us competent to face bigger challenges ahead. It's the end of 5 years of divine torture and the beginning of a permanent life of serving others selflessly to the point that self worth may no longer be of any worth at all. In many ways, it's just gonna be self sacrifice. At the end of the day, doing it to please ourselves will never make it worthwhile unless we do it with a purpose, which is ultimately to serve the Lord that people may see Him in us.

Strangely, I'm not sure why i'm prematurely talking so much about finishing med school when there's still a freagin long year to go. It's probably just a sign that i'm gonna miss loadsa my seniors who have helped me through as a junior. Without these people, life as a junior in clinical school would be something like a chicken running without a head... (Probably not the best analogy :P) I guess i've got a long list of people that i'd like to thank but these are the ones i'm totally indebted to:

C1/05

Lim Wei Shung... the Haji who is a Christian and one heck of an awesome dude
Tan Ru Wei... the eternal slacker who still manages to do well
Tan Bo Ren... the guy who speaks and lives Cardio in and out
Kenneth... another Cardio and ECG expert
Isaac... the study smart king
David... another study smart king
Prakash... football maestro
Vijay... another football maestro
Genevieve... ultimate future surgeon and sister in Christ
Jill... Paeds maestro and ultimate sister in Christ
Yu Tat... for the ultimate gold standard in photostat notes

C2/05

Siew Lian... ganas and forever 'Joy'ful woman
Sasha... just Sasha

I think the list wll go on and onlar. Either way, a word of thanks to everyone who is my senior. You people rock.

Aights, my fingers tired already. Adios.

Zaman Paleolitik

Strangely, today is the first time i've been to church service in 4 freagin long weeks. Aight, i've not backslidden in any sorta way but have not gone to church since i've been sorta stuck with something on my agenda for each of the past 4 Saturdays.

Being an usher on your first Saturday night service can be quite an experience especially when it comes to someone like myself. I've been a loyal backbencher almost throughout my YC days and probably still plan to be one now in the combine service. Technically with that sorta statement, it just means i prefer to be out of the limelight or probably just be invisible to people around me. Today, that statement was challenged when i had to serve communion and collect offering. It was a bit weird considering the fact that i've not even served in MSN (Some YC ministry that serves communion and collects offering) or done anything really productive in a church service the last 3 years. Honestly speaking, i still prefer serving without being in the limelight. You don't need to be noticed when you serve cos God knows what you are doing even if other people don't. Ponder ponder....

Since it's the first service in a freagin long while, i had to meet up with the lads from cg for once. At least to get some updates on what's been going on and how the cg has grown. Somehow, i think meeting up with them has made me feel like a freagin caveman for some reason or another. It's as if i've been stuck in a cave for 20 million years without knowing what has been going on. Man i need a life... Some of the thing i've been told sounds really good while others really make me wonder where have i been when all this was happening.

Still scratching my head like a paleolitic caveman, i'm still wondering if i should go for the freagin FGA College Ball after being persuaded by the lads from cg. After the last ball i went for, i more or less made up my mind that i probably won't want attend any more balls till i start earning my own cash. It's freagin expensive but it's all for the fellowship with the lads. Going as a single lad would definitely be weird as well since everyone is bringing someone else. Maybe i should just bring my imaginary pet tortoise as my date... Dream on. Haih... see la how.

Smile-lissimo

When your entire world seems to be crumbling around you and nothing seems to be right, a smile from a small child does wonders... It just reminds you of the simple and free world that they live in. Smile like Jenson! Yeah rite :P

Vamos

Why are some things never banished from our minds?
Why are they still there despite every attempt to try and forget them?
Why do they come back to haunt you?
Why are they still as strong as the day they came into existence?
Why did the that moment have to take place?
Why would I have said something like that?
Why did I act in such a way?
Why can't I get over it?
Why would someone bring these memories back to life?
Why can't things move on?
Why can't there be a solution?
Why can't there be an explanation?
Why can't I see a smile?
Why did i not think before I uttered those words?
Why can't people stop asking me the same question?
Why does solace desert me when I need it?
Why am I asking myself these questions?
Why haven't I found the answers?
Why am I still lost and broken?

I have no idea WHY. I wish these questions were banished forever. For now, I know they never will.
