Friday, September 23, 2005 La Finale I guess my blog's starting to be filled with cobwebs at the rate i'm putting up new posts. Don't think I can help it. CNS is just one big blob sitting on my encephalon waiting to be digested and processed. If my blog's not collecting dust, the only other thing I seem to talk about is Football or Futsal. How boring innit? Strangely, I guess that's how mundane my life is at the moment. Again, I don't think I can help it. After all, it's the freagin IMU Cup season and it's my last one!! Bleh. Well, CNS has been a rather tough nut to crack. I guess it's still something i gotta master if i'm gonna want to pursue orthopaedics. Afterall, muscles and their innervations are pretty important though probably most of the work is left for the neurology jokers to handle. Every word i'm typing seems to paint a picture of a rather psycho medic student that has been deprived of fresh air. That's probably what i need most at this very moment. Aight, i'm not all that cuckoo and full of nuts. The gals futsal team cracked the toughest nut they had yesterday. Got to congratulate them on their spectacular performance. Guess all the hard work and teamwork paid off. Great stuff from probably the greatest gals futsal team ever to exist in the uni's history. Their matches were played at breakneck speed. Goals flying in fast and furious. Scintillating end to end stuff. Probably more exciting than the way guys play. It was great cos I got to sit in a 'box' seat with a great view ala Premiership style minus the air-cond and plush leather seats. As for the lads, well... we've got our football finale on Sunday. Darn. Why can't the match be on some other day. Gonna have to miss church again. Hope this is the last time it happens on a Sunday. Need spiritual food just as much as physical substance. Anyways, hopefully we lads will be able to emulate the lasses superb feat. Gotta admit it's goin to be a tough act to follow. Gals... u fellers putting too much pressure on the guys. As of tommorow, there's tennis and the road relay. Hopefully the supporters will wake up to go support the team. Sighs... feeling to emo to blog anymore. Emo is not good now. Emo is bad. Treatment for Emo = sleep. Aight, snoozy looze. Au revoir. Cheers! Saturday, September 10, 2005 Deja Vu It wasn't too long ago, when i was still a newbie stuck wandering the corridors of the university not having an inclination of the challenges that a medical student will face in the coming months ahead. With a blink of an eye, with God's grace and mercy, i'm now in my fifth semester and somewhat ranked as a Phase one veteran of medic school. Though my first impressions of a medic school were that of an institution where super gung-ho nerds with ultra thick specs scour thru freagin thick books and have no life, it was a sigh of relief that they had some sports activities arranged to prevent our joints from forming contractures due to extremely long hours of sitting in those cute little chairs in the library. Fuh. The response to that rather enlightening piece of news, someone just said Yay ! End. Well, that wasn't really the end. As really innocent, kosong minded gobloks of sem one, we lads had no choice but to form a football team to supposedly get smacked by the seniors who were rather eager to taste victory. I guess destiny has the last say in many things. The wannabe smackers got smacked. Some how, M203 was a batch which was gifted with enough players to fill each position in the team. That was one headache less for the team captain. To make the team complete, we needed jerseys but unfortunately we didn't manage to get them before our first match. Somehow, our emo post-orientation, cincalok treated and wasabi coloured yellow orientation shirts did the job as our first match attire. Walla, there you have it. The M203 football team. As we kicked off our first match of our final IMU Cup today, of course that emo feeling did turn up somehow. Afterall, it's one of the stepping stones to the Treble that we are seeking. Initially the football wasn't that spectacular as the usual caution against the new sem ones is always there. Misplaced passes and missed chances got the captain to give us lads a wake up call. It wasn't long after the sounding that our first goal came and the rest followed suit. At the end of it all, it reminded me of the very first IMU Cup football match that M203 played in with a scoreline very much a reflection of it. Final Score 8-1. Not perfect but not bad for a start. *Finally scored a goal too. Bleh Till the next match. A hope for a greater achievement (even more so for CNS). Cheers! Thursday, September 08, 2005 Kick Ball !! Yup, it's finally the part of the year where us lads get our dusty footie boots out of the cupboard to KICK SOME BALL! Sounds pretty fun innit? Well, this time round it's a totally different proposition. I guess I've taken forgranted that after 2 IMU Cups, i'll probably be sitting out of this one. Sob sob. So far as it seems, the nagging ankle injury hasn't improved one bit and i'm definitely ruling out my chances of playing for now. Bah. Shouldn't sigh over it aight? After all, i can finally resume my post as the undisputed waterboy of M203. A position held with pride and dignity. Bleh. Well honestly, i do hope to get myself fit once again. It's my last IMU Cup and it would be great to see M203 win the treble. Dream dream dream. That's the right thing to do for now as I still dream of passing my sem 5 exam. A tribute to MY FOOT ! Get well soon... ![]() So... Sunday's the kick off. As usual, the waterboy would usually give his pre-match commentary on the probable team lineup. It's just a wild guess as the final word comes from the boss himself. Tinker on... In between the sticks : Iqbal Right Back : Azri Left Back : Calvin Center Backs : Faiz , Chee Wing Right Wing : Ken J Central Mid : Jan Hoong , Eugene Left Wing : Mr X (No one knows) Forwards : Ah Soon , Badbess Sub bench : Too many people la... Anyways, to the hardcore, diehard M203 supporters, the first match will be against the semester 1 team on Sunday, 11 September @ 830am. Aights, till the battle begins. Sayonara. Friday, September 02, 2005 Reverrie As of now, the room's pretty messed up. Have been having patho and anatomy books as my pillows thanks to the recent exams. It was under the rubble that i found me old cd player with a few cds beside it. I guess the normal reaction would be to press the play button and see what's in store in the cd. As the cd played, it's one of those old emo tunes which reminded me lots about the things that took place a few years ago and what's been happening of late. I guess time really flies and those tunes really took me back in time. As Sue n Deb supplied the melancholic voices which blended superbly with Keng, Justin and Marko's guitaring plus Simon's drumming, it brought me back to a place about 2 years back somewhere down south in the island of Singapore where their band was playing. Just kinda miss havin them around as a band jamming together and also as close mates. Things have moved really quickly in just 2 years. Marko and Justin have each jumped on a plane and landed in different places. Keng and Simon have moved on to greener pastures while Sue n Deb are still around. Well, i guess it will be a few years from now, when i'll probably get to see them play together again. Just a tribute to a great bunch of people. Wishing them well wherever they are and in whatever they due. Aights, back to me cds. Cheers! |
