Deja Vu

It wasn't too long ago, when i was still a newbie stuck wandering the corridors of the university not having an inclination of the challenges that a medical student will face in the coming months ahead. With a blink of an eye, with God's grace and mercy, i'm now in my fifth semester and somewhat ranked as a Phase one veteran of medic school. Though my first impressions of a medic school were that of an institution where super gung-ho nerds with ultra thick specs scour thru freagin thick books and have no life, it was a sigh of relief that they had some sports activities arranged to prevent our joints from forming contractures due to extremely long hours of sitting in those cute little chairs in the library. Fuh. The response to that rather enlightening piece of news, someone just said Yay ! End.

Well, that wasn't really the end. As really innocent, kosong minded gobloks of sem one, we lads had no choice but to form a football team to supposedly get smacked by the seniors who were rather eager to taste victory. I guess destiny has the last say in many things. The wannabe smackers got smacked. Some how, M203 was a batch which was gifted with enough players to fill each position in the team. That was one headache less for the team captain. To make the team complete, we needed jerseys but unfortunately we didn't manage to get them before our first match. Somehow, our emo post-orientation, cincalok treated and wasabi coloured yellow orientation shirts did the job as our first match attire. Walla, there you have it. The M203 football team.

As we kicked off our first match of our final IMU Cup today, of course that emo feeling did turn up somehow. Afterall, it's one of the stepping stones to the Treble that we are seeking. Initially the football wasn't that spectacular as the usual caution against the new sem ones is always there. Misplaced passes and missed chances got the captain to give us lads a wake up call. It wasn't long after the sounding that our first goal came and the rest followed suit. At the end of it all, it reminded me of the very first IMU Cup football match that M203 played in with a scoreline very much a reflection of it. Final Score 8-1. Not perfect but not bad for a start. *Finally scored a goal too. Bleh

Till the next match. A hope for a greater achievement (even more so for CNS). Cheers!
