Simply sweet lass

Ah yes, i can still picture your curves in my head,
Your sweet and sultry voice still rings in my ears,
Your rather fragrant scent that draws me nearer,
That beautiful and fair skin,
Even the way you stand makes me smile,
When i caress that body,
Fu yoh, Shiok-a-lingam !!,
Like in seventh heaven,
If you think i'm crazy about you,
Don't blame me,
Even Daniel and Adrian were not spared,
I can only dream of owning you someday for now,
Though rather far fetched for now,
All i can say is ooh-la-la,
That lass named Taylor is one hot mama. (Or rather the entire Taylor family)

Haha. I didn't write that for any girl. It's for a guitar !! Probably the best i've laid my hands on so far. Yesterday was one crazy day of guitar mania. Yup, as usual, the guitar freaks, Daniel, Adrian, Chia Liang (CL), TJ and me were out looking for new guitars. Our day began with a visit to Bentley, somewhere in KL. We did see some nice stuff there. The Santa Cruz 12 string wasn't too bad especially for the price. It was rather surprising that Bentley stocked those kinda mid-ranged guitars. I think CL was definitely hooked to the 12 stringer. Dunno if he'll buy it though.

Next stop was where we were all taken out of this world into a paradise where guitars never sounded better.Yup, though initally we were hesitant to go, Sinamex or SMX was our next destination. When i first saw the shop, i was more interested in testing out the decks. Yeah, they had some great Dj-ing equipment and i don't think you can blame me for wanting to spin those records. I tested out the Numark decks which i think were pretty ok. I seriously think these fellers at Numark have progressed by leaps and bounds. It's a great set of decks and the mixer was really cool too. Kill switches with effects. Whoa. That totally rocked. Awesome stuff. I still wonder why we dj's still go for the old skool Technic's MK II decks when their rather old. Well, maybe the reliability does the trick but as far as i am concerned, for me Technic's is probably gonna die soon with Vestax offering the PDX-2000s and Numark with the TTX. Fuh. That load of crap totally makes me want to return to my decks soon but well.. somebody caught my attention more than anything else.

Numark TTX

I wasn't particularly a great fan of Taylor guitars before though i knew how good they sounded. I had always preferred the tones of a Guild or a Martin which were rather unique. As I ran to the decks for some spinning, Daniel rushed straight to the Taylor gallery. Well, technically i couldn't hear what he was playing as i was blasting those tracks with my headphones on. But once i hit the kill switch and took off those headphones, i think i had to dump the decks. That awesome sound was out of this world. With my hands getting rather fidgetty, i took the Taylor 1 series to have a try. It sounded great. That wasn't enough cos once you tried one, you technically would want more. I think i tried out the entire range including the Baby Taylor. Overall, i would have to say that the 4 and 5 series were the best sounding guitars i've played so far but the 1 series had already persuaded me to join the many friends that i have who already owned Taylors. If we had the cash, definitely a 4 or 5 series would be great but realistically, since i'm just a student who's not even earning cash at the moment, i'll be contented with a 1 series. But that experience with guitars wasn't over yet. hehe.

Baby Taylor

Our next stop was where "Elvis" still lives. Yup the good old Woh-Fatt music store in Jln Silang. I can't stop laughing at the fact that TJ keeps calling the shop "Hor Fun guitar store" despite telling him numerous times that it's Woh Fatt music store. Our adventures here were to try out the so called "fake" Taylors better known as SX guitars which look exactly like the real thing but sound a distant part from it. Well, our point was proved correct as we tested out the SX guitars. Some of them sounded horrible but others were pretty good. Have to give them face though. It's made in the fregin PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA where you can fabricate everything under the sun. Yeah, Chinaman is the best. Although we didn't get anything, CL was quite adamant in wanting to sell his FINA semi-acoustic to get one of the better sounding SX guitars that actually look like a fake Taylor 3 series. Not to forget was another cheap but awesome guitar called J.D.. Yeah, some Aussie made guitar. I have to say that the finishing was pretty good and the sound was 50% Taylor standard. Maybe if you add Elixir strings, it might go up to 70% as Daniel suggested.
Well that does it for guitars. Gonna start dreaming about it again. Gosh. Taylors are hovering like bees in my mind at the moment. Drool, drool...

Aights, else than guitars and turntables. Seems like everyone is buzzing to the hype of the IMU Ball 2005. Well, gonna burn another hole in my pocket if i go again but since it's the last, i think i might as well tag along with the lads and go. That means "PROJECT TAYLOR" to get my Taylor will have to suffer a setback as RM 90 goes down the drain or rather into my stomach. Hopefully we get a decent meal this time and not suffer the effects of hypoglycemia as we did in the last one wher the food was rather scarce. As for the talk of a ball partner.. well.. if the lads ask someone then i'll follow suit if not.. it's back to our "Bachelor's Table" again where the lads will once again rule the table. hehe. Anyone want to be my ball partner?? darn.. what a crappy way of asking. haha. As for Mr. SC congratulations for the success.. wishing u well. :P.

Okies, okies. Sau Tong. No more crap. Too much rubbish talk is bad for the brain when i should be thinking of Taylor guitars... oops, I SHOULD BE THINKING OF STUDYING i mean. :P. Aights, sayonara. Looking for a great new week ahead. God bless everyone !!
