Back in the old days... Part 1 (dunno if got part 2)

After reading a post from a great lad named Greg, somehow my brain started rewinding like some old vcr player. Images flashing like some 50's era tv with the monochrome background reminded me of the rather whacky stuff we did back on those days. I can still remember back when we lads were in standard 4,5 and 6. The only thing we did was crazy stuff. I can still remember celebrating after i scored an own goal in a football game only to find out later that i scored in the wrong goal to my despair and to end up being whacked up like a piece of meat by my team mates. Man.. of course i laugh at it now cos it was a pretty insane thing to do but i guess these are the funnier things in life that make life more colourful. Besides being a goblok at football, there was of course the 'primitive and stone aged' west-valley park opposite our primary skool which is now the rather modern and beautifully landscaped west-valley park of TTDI where we used to hang around. The lads at times 'ponteng' class and spend the entire day fishing at the pond in the middle of the park only later to be caught by the discipline teacher who would find us hangin around looking for fighting fish. that would probably define the great stuff we did back in those days. Of course then, the usual suspects would be the fellers from the 'Openg gang'.. people like Ong, Lam, Julian, Faisal, Edzuan, Fawwaz, Alex, Yip and etc. Life couldn't have been better if it wasn't for these lads. And of course we had the most happening woman around who is none other than Lam's mum, better known as Auntie Leong who even caught some of the lads puncturing the tire of a car parked near the bridge at Openg only to joke with them. Crazy stuff.. That was back in the primary skool days. Then came secondary skool where things changed... new friends came along and new experiences supervened. People like Greg, Dinesh, Alex, Rajen, Fua, Eugene, Way Kiat and old friends like Darren and Yudhis really made life great and of course still do. Being a rather 'lousy' prefect, it was pretty fun actually though kinda dangerous. I can still remember the times we used the codeword 'panas' to indicate the presence of the discipline teacher when the fellers were having their hourly 'vitamin N' dosage. How much crankier could we get? Life back then certainly rocked. Those crazy days are definitely over and i am definitely looking forward to life ahead. As for the lads, were all over the place. Nick and Greg are living the American dream, whilst Alex is about to wage war against the 'Liverfools of Liverpool'. Julian, Fua and Bak are still stuck in the land of wombats while Way Kiat n Alif have returned. As for Lam, Rajen and Ong, they're the high flyers at the moment and i'm sorta sitting here staring at the monitor wondering when i'll ever start working. Well, the rat race ain't everything. After working for a year, working life in the corporate world actually kinda sux. I think I count it a blessing to be in the field or the position that i'm in at the moment. God has a purpose for everything and in his timing all things are beautiful.

The mob squad of 83..

Greg.. the boss himself.

Nick.. the funky genius.

Fua a.k.a Fei chai.. Chinatown boss.

Dinesh.. macho man n bollywood star.

This is your captain speaking.... Ong.

Mong mat yeh mong... ahah...as said by Alex 'the great' Gan.

Rajen a.k.a brother panther and his... 'legitimate son'

Julian.. Semi Aussie Rockstar.

Eugene.. master chef and 'Mr. Pringles'.

Darren in deep thought.

Aights, gonna turn of my retro TV and get back to real life. Cheers!
