Chinese New Year in beloved Malaysia


Man does it feel great to be a chinaman.. Yup, just got back from Ipoh where i ushered in the new year. It's sort of a yearly thing i guess but it's something i look forward to every year. Everytime i return, a little bit of everything changes. As the years have passed, people have come and gone, kids have grown up and lads like me and my fellow cousins are still the best of pals that still do crazy things together. haha. As of the Ipoh town, things 'evolved'. After approximately 10 trips down to Ipoh, finally, the flyover bridge in Jln Gopeng is completed. I once thought it would never be completed, anyways.. an applause for the MPI for finally completing the bridge. I think it's another milestone for the construction industry in Ipoh. :P. Aside from the town, the family reunion was great. Yup, catching up on stuff was good especially with my crazy cousins. It was rather unfortunate that we ran out of 'ammunition' this year. Yup, the fireworks were exhausted the last time we tried to ambush my grand dad's neighbour's dog (real pest which can freagin bark 24 hrs non stop). The dog is lucky this time round.. hopefully we can get our new 'supplies' next year. hehe. I guess the 'ambush' wasn't meant to be as well, cos unexpectedly, my grand dad invited his police mates from the Police dept for a drink... darn. That totally confirmed a big 'NO' to fireworks for this year. arghh. :P. Well, aside from the usual rubbish we were up to, was real glad to see my grand mum doin well after her recent surgery. She looks as if she never even went for any surgery prior to this. A big thanx to God for His grace and mercy. As for the uncles and aunts, i guess everyone's doin good. As for some of my other cousins, it's amazing to hear that some are about to graduate.. sheesh. The strange fact is, these fellers are around my age .. man!! that leaves me as the only lad to still be stuck in uni and sorta living off my parents. Anyways, i think it aint too long before i'll also be joining the rat race. hehe. Kids, kids... man do they grow up fast. It was a couple of years ago when i had these 3 irritating nephews running around the house, smashing antiques and peeing all over the floor. Strangely, this time round, they've finally grown up. Yeah, one's even got a deeper voice than me. wow. haha. Well, i think in the event of another 2 of my cousins getting married, i'm going to be seeing a lot more small lads running around in near future. I think everyone will have to get used to it.. arghh!!!haha. Aside from family, food in Ipoh always rocks. Had loadsa good food. Kinda have a semi tondi at the moment. Strangely, i didn't get 'tondified' due to binging.. cos i didn't take much. hmm.. must have been those new year cookies.hehe. As for gambling.. i'm proud to say, i DIDN'T GAMBLE a single sen at all this year. muahaha. What an achievement. yeah rite. hehe. Okies, that's it for now. Feeling pretty exhausted after a great CNY celebration. Gotta recuperate to replenish my fuel tank for angpow hunting..hehe.Adios!God bless u dudes!
