Yellow

When was the last time you got a yellow card? Spectacularly, i'm still astonished by how i've managed to earn myself at least one yellow card in every football tournament i've played in the past 2 years. That's a pretty good record for a left winger. As of last week's tournament, i've set another record as being the fastest person to be yellow carded, which is quite an achievement. Not something to be proud of for sure. Due to the absence of almost every thinkable defender that the team captain could think of, strangely the only person he thought of throwing into the defensive backline was none other than the waterboy himself. Strange innit? I'm still wondering if his decision was based on a game we played a long long long time ago when i snapped his ankles with quite a wicked tackle. I seriously hope not. Anyways, sometimes when you think you are trying to emulate Gabriel Heinze or Gennaro Gattuso, it's heaps of fun going in for a crunching tackle. For the fastest yellow card, it was another one of those clean but hardcore ankle snapping tackles that got me my prize. I think the way the macha screamed and shouted after the tackle added to the referee's decision. Either way, i'm still really perplexed with the number of yellow cards i've amassed over the last 2 years. I'm not vicious aight. Food for thought...

Thanks to that amazingly quick yellow card, i found myself sitting outside the futsal court for the next few games. Sometimes sitting on the bench can be really boring. All i did was just stare at my one and only yellow water bottle which was given to me by one of my best pals. It really reminded me back of the days when i used to be a real kaki bangku back in school. I couldn't even kick the ball in a straight line. What a joke. I was practically the last feller to be chosen to even be on the substitutes bench. The only thing i did to keep myself occupied was probably to make sure the drinks were all ready for the first team members who were about the break for half-time or end the match, hence the birth of 'the waterboy'. Of course things have changed with time. It's now a privilege to be on a team and play regular football. Emo....

As of now, life's pretty much going at the speed of a yellow submarine. I'm still stuck in the middle of an ocean wondering why some things are just the way they are. As great as life is, sometimes you just wished that others were just as blessed as yourself. I just wish....

Aight, back to work before i get another yellow card. Cheers!
