Sunday, March 18, 2007 Red Tide As humans, we're blessed with the gift of sight to appreciate the wonderful mixture of colours that surrounds us. There's only one person to thank for giving us rods and cones in our retina that allow us to decipher these wonderful colours around us and that's definitely the boss up there. As many colours that there may be, this weekend, only one colour stands out more than any other colour, and that colour is Red. Red is pretty symbolic in many ways. It's the colour that people most often associate with love, some grotesque scene, blood, roses and many other things. This weekend it only symbolizes the return of Ferrari in the new season of F1 and the relentless march of Man Utd. Things couldn't have been better with Man Utd whipping Bolton by 4 goals to 1. With the red hot duo of Ronaldo and Rooney playing like ah longs going after those who owe them money, Bolton were just literally shredded to bits. Absolutely wicked stuff. The highlight of the weekend has absolutely got to be Kimi Raikonnen's debut for Ferrari this season. It wasn't too long ago that some feller told me that this feller was a lousy driver while he was still with Sauber Petronas. On the contrary, i told that feller that Raikonnen was a mad driver with his aggressive style and would bet that he would make the grade for Ferrari someday. True enough, it's been a few years since that arguement took place and this Finnish road maniac is finally in Ferrari. Makes me wonder if i should have bet with that feller. Sighs. Anyways, congrats to Kimi on his first victory for Ferrari. The way he pushed the car was crazy but i guess Ferrari finally built a prancing horse worthy to be tortured by this mad Finn. As for the week ahead, man is it going to be hectic. Hopefully figures don't go red and throw me into boiling point. Firstly, it's the beginning of ENT which i know will be busy for sure. Secondly, i'm gonna have to play in a futsal league against my own will again!! For 4 weeks!! With no incentive!! Arghh!! How frustrating can that be? Time and time again, i've tried to avoid getting myself into any sort of competitive futsal/football event in fear that i may get injured again thanks to my rather 'you asked for it!!' on court antics. Strangely, this time i can't pull out due to the fact that some 'brilliant' guy registered me and a few other lads in a team to play in a league without formally informing us. Hopefully i won't taunt anyone to whack me to the ground again this time as i've always done. In other words, no more crazy tricks or dribbling for me. I wish i could go back to those old days when i was just known as 'Waterboy' and just be a kaki bangku talking to the tambi who sells ice cream by the field. Maybe i should just bring my water bottle to the game and just sit down and dream. Memories..... man. Aight aight, time to get back to work before i get a RED card for slacking again. Cheers!
