Battle Royale
Football matches have been known to precipitate myocardial infarction a.k.a heart attacks thanks to crazy outcomes from matches. Based on the number of cases, it seems South American gobloks are the most likely victims of this syndrome. As of Chinamen, so far no cases have been reported, so that's encouraging. Not one for the faint hearted for sure, but matches between teams like Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have always been mad with some of the craziest outcomes. Teams may play scintillating football but still result in a loss. That's football for you.
Just got back after watching one of the craziest matches i've watched this year (Not that i've watched many actually). It's gotta be this weekend's match of the week between Man Utd and Liverpool. After watching the first half, i thought it was probably fair to say that a draw for both teams would be a justified result but after watching 40 minutes of the second half, i seriously thought Man Utd deserved to lose though i'm a hard-core Man Utd fan. They were totally bombarded from all areas of the pitch with no chance of gaining possesion of the ball. But credit to Man Utd. They persevered and once again miraculously won thanks to sheer resilience, a never say die attitude and a certain John O'Shea. A great gift to Giggsy who played his 700th match for Man Utd for sure. I guess it's this kinda attitude that will make a team champions eventually (Hopefully).
As the Premiership inches closer to the end, it's the beginning of a new season here. Yup, it's finally semester 8. Time to wake up after 2 weeks of starving myself from my medic books. Gonna be learning loadsa new things. Hopefully that never say die attitude gets stuck inside my head. Definitely looking forward to the Electives in Cambodia with Jeremy and Shaggy. Contrary to what some lecturer has suggested, WE ARE NOT GOING THERE TO PLANT LAND MINES! and hopefully we don't encounter them either! I've gotta say that that particular lecturer as some sorta fettish for violent stuff. Weird. As for Selectives, hopefully it will be a great time doing research in some field of Orthopaedics again. Great stuff for sure. As for minor postings, here I come!
