Sunday, July 16, 2006 Vortex 45 minutes just flies by and before you know it, you're home away from home. That's how I describe my weekly journey back to Snoozieland from good old KL. 45 minutes can be horrendously long or miraculously fast depending on how you spend it. There are times when you just wished the journey was shorter and there are also times when you just wished that the journey could go on and on. A journey back with a bunch of friends really makes a lot of difference. We could go on talking about almost anything under the sun and crack insane jokes at random. These occasions are those you would like to have as they could go on and on, making life totally awesome. A journey alone can also be equally good as it provides an avenue to pray and just reflect on things that have happened thus far. As i drove back today, I don't know why i just decided to just turn off the radio although the music on the airwaves wasn't too bad. The silence and just the sight of cars passing by in the darkness of the night just made it surreal. A brief moment of reflection just did the trick. It just reminded me of how important God has been in the helter-skelter life that i live. It's an honest fact that the past half a year has been really tough and excrutiatingly painful. But yet when I look back at things, even through the lowest points that i was in and when there was no one to turn to, there was always God who would reach out and provide hope despite the rather bleak outlook. Just taking the time to pray and thank God for all His grace and mercy just rocks. It really adds zest to life when you know there's a God that cares and wants nothing but the best for us. As I was praying, the passage of Psalm 43:5 really made a lot more sense..... Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. Just hope it would serve as an encouragement to all those out there who are feeling down and out. I guess that verse did the trick for me. As for the week ahead, just hoping for another great and fruitful week. Kinda anticipating the visit to MV Doulos with Hiang Liang and the other lads. There will be a talk given by some medical personnel on board the vessel on Tuesday night. Hopefully it would be of great use to us future aspiring docs who hope to one day serve in missions. Then there's of course YC College camp which will be starting on Friday. It's kinda unfortunate that I can't go but for those who haven't signed up, please go sign up. I'm pretty sure it will rock. As for me, i'm anticipating the arrival of my cousin from Canada who i haven't seen for a pretty long time. Hopefully we'll get to resume our crazy KL nite life adventures... ah beng style of course minus the knives this time round. :P Aights till the next post.. adios! Comments : Post a Comment |
