Away from it all

This week has probably been one of the craziest weeks i've had in a while. Life has definitely been full of surprises but all i just hope for is a happy ending to whatever i'm doing. After a good five weeks learning about psychiatry, it's been a really good eye opener for me. Although i was pretty skeptical about having to endure five weeks of 'torture' in the psychiatric ward, i've started to like it after a while. It's definitely been quite an experience clerking patients in a 'prison cell' setting where you and the patients are stuck in a confined space where trust between you and the patient is all there is to protect you from getting assaulted by an aggresive patient. Great stuff.

Now that psychiatry is done and dusted, i can't wait to start Orthopedics. Based from an observation i've made amongst my batchmates, none of them seem to like orthopedics at all. In fact, they abhor it. No idea why. Guess i'll find out pretty soon why all this is happening. Hopefully i'll see it in a different light. I believe my interest in orthopedics increased another few percent after i suffered yet another injury last week. This time it was pretty bad. Based on the ortho surgeon's observation, i probably fractured my tibia. So, that leaves me kinda 'tempang' for now. That means no Futsal for a good few weeks to a month. Sighs.

Since i can't really walk properly, what better way to relieve the stress of having to deal with excrutiating pain and painkillers than to take a drive back to KL via the old trunk road. I can't believe how much i've missed out on by using the PLUS highway almost everytime i come back to KL. I never knew how scenic the drive could be just by going thru the good old trunk road. The sight of little lads playing by the side of the road, village houses and rolling hills covered with mist just makes me want to thank God for placing me here in Malaysia. Although i've aspirations of leaving this country someday to further my studies, i guess God just reminded me of the many things that Malaysia has to offer before i start thinking about moving to a foreign land. I guess we do take things forgranted at times. Malaysia rocks and there's absolutely no doubt about that. Proud to be Malaysian for sure.

Aights... till the leg recovers and the orthopedic journey starts. Au revoir!
