Monday, August 28, 2006 A car, a religious man and a chinaman Yup, i gotta admit it, sadly, i'm a hard-core car enthusiast who can remember the specifications of most cars on the road better than my medical stuff. I don't know what's with me and cars. I guess it's just that 'boys-toys syndrome' that's got me hooked to those four wheeled beauties on the road. Speaking of which, definitely supercars fascinate me the most but as we grow older, our taste kinda changes and the cars made to define the meaning of luxury do tend to take precedence over the crazy supercars that just make us drool. I'm no doubt a huge BMW fan but if there's one company that really catches my attention, it's gotta be Lexus. Lexus is of course the luxury division of Toyota Motor Corporation which sells wickedly great machines. The latest lineup for 2006 definitely would definitely wet the pants of the directors at BMW and Daimler-Chrysler. Besides the great quality and build of Lexus cars, what catches my eye is the motto of the company which goes : 'Relentless pursuit of perfection'. That simply defines the work etiquette at Lexus in a sentence. Definitely a motto i could use for myself. It surely does justice compared to Proton's 'dare to change-nothing' motto as the Satria Neo still looks like it's predecessor. Okay, i'm not trying to start an anti-Proton campaign but the Lexus motto just propped up as Ps. Judah spoke about this year's YC Camp theme which is themed 'Relentless Pursuit'. I guess it was of impeccable timing that this message was delivered. As Ps. Judah elaborated, the theme basically speaks of having 'Passion with a purpose'. Passion without purpose and purpose without passion can lead to nothing. They both have to be put together in order for things to turn out right. After reading about Samuel, Saul, Daniel and the Seven brothers of Sceva, the meaning of life which has passion with a purpose was so much more clearer. I guess it pretty much applies to my life. Somehow i think i have a little bit of this and a little bit of that but i never have the complete package. In the end, usually things come out imperfect and it's never the finished product which i'd like to have. Sometimes the purpose is there but the passion just fizzles out or vice versa. It's just so tough to keep the 2 of them together. At the end of the day, may God's purpose be served and may He grant me the passion to fulfil the purpose He has set in place for me. For now, it's definitely to finish the journey i have in Medical School. The tunnel is still dark but i know i'll see the light soon as i know i'm approaching the finishing line not too long from now. May God have the final say in my life and may he make me into a complete and finished article perfect in His sight. That's all i really hope for in my own relentless pursuit for perfection.
